Résumé

Few countries have been as devastated by war and state abuse as Cambodia. (Asia Watch 1993) Following more than two decades of war and international isolation, Cambodia is one of the poorest countries in the world. Life expectancy is only 49.7 years. They account for nearly two thirds of the population and head one third of all households (UNRISD 1993:1
